Friday February 7 saw the local final of the Research Challenge, CFA Institute's global competition. Four teams from finance programs at Concordia, HEC Montréal, Laval and McGill universities competed. Thanks to CN's Investment Division, which presented its company at theAnalyst Day last November, which enabled the 23 participating students to deepen their analysis of the company over a period of more than two months.
The winners (Olivier Arsenault, Sai Kanthasamy, Pier-Olivier Laflèche and Mitchell McEwen) are awarded a bursary to register for one of the CFA program exams.
CFA Montréal and CFA Québec warmly congratulate them on the excellence of their research and presentation. We would also like to thank all the participants and their teachers, who played a major role in this enriching experience. This competition would not have been possible without the contribution of the judges and markers who lent a helping hand to the competition organizer, Shahenda El Gindi, CFA, Secretary and University Relations Manager, CFA Montreal.
Next step: our winners will represent Quebec at the regional competition, to be held by videoconference at the end of April. We wish you good luck!
