Discover the inspiring portrait of a committee chair passionate about her mission.
What led you to get involved with CFA Montréal?
Isabelle: I wanted to get involved with a leading investment organization, and do so in an area of expertise that matters to me. I also wanted to expand my professional network.
Tell us about your role as a volunteer in this project.
Isabelle: I’m the head of the sustainable finance committee, whose role is to support CFA Montréal in helping its members on this front. To do so, I ensure strong representation of sustainable finance professionals within the committee. I set the meeting agendas for our meetings, which I lead, allowing us first to exchange ideas on current and important topics related to sustainable finance, and then follow the progress of the committee’s various initiatives. To stay agile, I’ve created subcommittees that members can voluntarily join based on their interests and the committee’s needs—for example, to produce podcasts. On an ad hoc basis, we also welcome guest speakers who provide insights on specific topics.
What does your involvement with the association bring you?
Isabelle: It allows me to support CFA Montréal—an organization I deeply respect—in its mission to educate and inform its members. It also offers valuable opportunities for connection and collaboration with professionals in the sustainable finance space who inspire me. On a more personal note, my role as committee chair has enriched my skills in governance, leadership, and project management.
What have you discovered most about the association through your involvement?
Isabelle: It wasn’t a surprise, but rather a confirmation of the depth of local talent in sustainable finance and the strong spirit of collaboration among people. I would also add the strong support provided by CFA Montréal and the professionalism of its staff.
