CFA Montréal takes concrete action to promote financial literacy among young people

New partnership with JA Québec: for the future of young people

CFA Montréal is proud to announce its partnership with the educational programs of JA Québeca non-profit organization dedicated to financial and entrepreneurial education for young people. JA Québec is part of JA Worldwide, present in over 120 countries and directly reaching 10 million young people through 400,000 volunteers.

JA was founded in 1919, and came to Quebec in 1962. JA Québec offers introductory programs in business and financial literacy for young Quebecers from Secondary 4 and 5 through to college level.

According to Welcome Spaces40 % of young Quebecers have failed a basic financial test, yet investment culture and financial literacy are concerns for today's youth.

CFA Montréal wishes to collaborate with JA Québec by helping to finance these programs, which help to raise awareness of the job opportunities available in the financial sector, diversify the investment universe as a whole, and contribute to promoting an investment culture among young people.

By contributing its network and expertise, the association will also promote concrete actions carried out through this organization, which focus on common interests and values: succession, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) and financial education.

"This collaboration is in line with our organization's culture and the sense of commitment of our members and candidates oriented towards the future of the industry. As a good corporate citizen, we have the opportunity to act and do our part by rallying to this cause, which will promote the financial education of the new generation through the dedication of the community," says Jo-Ann Hajdamacha, General Manager of CFA Montreal. Financial education is a fundamental pillar in preparing and inspiring the next generation of prosperous Quebec youth. We are proud to join forces with CFA Montreal to provide a solid platform for demystifying financial literacy and highlighting the crucial role of CFA designation holders in the dynamics of our economy," says Jacinthe Figueredo, Acting President and CEO of JA Québec.

Working behind the scenes for several months now, our team and member philanthropy committee are dedicated to putting together a joint initiative that will take place as part of Financial Literacy Month in November 2024. This special project, which will have a positive impact on Quebec's youth, will be unveiled at the Forecast Evening on June 13.
