May 15, 2024 — ODRÉE DUCHARME, Senior Director, External Portfolio Management at CDPQ and CFA Montréal former President, is appointed as the new CFA Institute President Council Representative (PCR) for Canada.

Odrée Ducharme, who has been an active volunteer for the CFA local and national community since 2016, has just been elected by her peers in a new role as PCR for Canada.

The role of PCRs is key and consists of:

  • Representing the collective interests of societies in their region and their members by facilitating dialogue, collaboration and sharing amongst and between societies;
  • Facilitating communications with and between societies and the CFA Institute Board of Governors and management;
  • Serving as the spokesperson for each society region before the President’s Council;

Odrée is very familiar with the challenges and opportunities of Canada CFA societies. Amongst her various involvement in the CFA Institute network, she has been a member of the Canadian Investment Performance Council (CIPC) and has represented CFA Montréal within CFA Societies Canada during her tenure as Vice-president of CFA Montréal.

The close relationship she has built with CFA Institute, society leaders throughout the world and in our region, employers and key actors of our industry as President of CFA Montréal from 2021 to 2023 will highly benefit Canadian Societies.

"I am honoured and grateful to have this opportunity to represent the interests of the 12 Canadian societies at the CFA Institute. I will act as a facilitator for the CFA societies, and I am committed to fulfilling this role with integrity, efficiency, and an openness. As the PCR for Canada, I will ensure that we collectively enhance the value of our services to our members and give a strong voice to innovative ideas emerging from our group," said Odrée.

Canada, which includes 21,000 charterholders, hasn’t been represented by a Quebec member since William K. Kovalchuk, CFA’s tenure, over 20 years ago.

Odrée is eager to start in this new position in September for a two-year term. We offer her and the other PCRs our warmest congratulations.
