DESTINATION 2027
With fall now officially in full swing and many activities and professional commitments on our respective calendars, I’m writing these few lines to let you know about some of the exciting things you can expect in the 2024–2025 season. Besides a rich and varied lineup of activities in the coming months, which includes our ever-popular Forecast Dinner and Outlook events, we will have the privilege of hosting the InvestPact Symposium in November 2024, the proceeds of which will go to JA Quebec to support financial education and improve the future of the next generation.
This type of initiative reflects CFA Montréal’s commitment to upholding the highest standards of professional excellence and ethics in investment management, fostering a dynamic community and shaping the future of finance in Montreal and across Quebec.
I am also very proud to present the highlights of our 2024–2027 strategic plan, Destination 2027. In developing this roadmap, we drew inspiration from our core values of integrity, professionalism and continuing education. It charts our path forward, taking into account the shifting landscape of the finance and investment industry.
Destination 2027 is centred around four strategic goals, with specific targets and actions outlined for each, based on the anticipated changes in the Montreal market. I invite you to take a closer look at the summary of what we will be exploring in the next three years against a backdrop of innovation, collaboration and engagement.
On a completely different note, the second year of my term as president is about to start, and I can already see many unique opportunities for our Society on the horizon. To begin with, CFA Institute will be holding its Society Leadership Conference here in Montreal in mid-October, with leaders from over 160 member societies around the world in attendance. This will be followed in January by the launch of a series of activities marking the 75th anniversary of CFA Montréal.
In other words, there will be lots to celebrate throughout the season.
I hope to be able to share some of these memorable moments with you, and I wish you an excellent year ahead.
Sandy Poiré, CFA
President, CFA Montréal
